School’s Out Forever

I did it. I finished. I have a Master’s degree. Actually, I finished a little while ago but indulged in some “west and wewaxation at wast.” This consisted of sharing a large townhouse in Galena, Illinois for a long weekend. Bliss.

I promised never to apologize for not blogging, so no apologies. Just promise to get back to writing.

I seem to have missed the Mrs. Hall boat and that really pisses me off; I SOOOOOOO want to tell her that if her boys can’t respect a girl in a towel, then they can stay the hell away from my daughter. Oh, and Mrs. Hall, pretty sure my son can look at a completely naked woman and still respect her. That was sort of the point behind our teaching him that he really shouldn’t be with naked people unless he respected them and that he should respect the people who get naked with him. But, we aren’t afraid of naked people in our house. Moths and spiders? Hell, yes. Naked people? Not so much.

I guess I missed the Mrs. hall boat too! We are naked around here ALL the time.

  Well, if you missed Mrs. Hall, maybe there is still hope. I’m pretty pissed off about girls and how they are treated right now. So, you know something’s gonna come out of that. Look up Mrs. Hall. It is not to be believed.

Firstly, congratulations on your Master’s! That’s a great achievement. Well done! 🙂

Secondly, I am late to the party on the whole Mrs. Hall internet furore as well. But after reading this post, I did a quick Google search and then spent the next half hour fuming as I read her post and all the comments. It is so unbelievably condescending and just plain wrong! I defend the right for free speech and that woman is entitled to believe what she wants, even if it is deeply flawed! But she shouldn’t push her views onto other people, least of all her own children because they are the ones who are going to listen to her most. I didn’t bother posting a comment on her post but I read elsewhere that she hasn’t approved comments from people who criticize her post. That irritates me even more!

  I haven’t checked out her post. I got the notification through Facebook. It really pisses me off that she is raising sons. We don’t need more boys who find something shameful in women’s bodies. Hm…maybe I can figure out a way to blog about this afterall.
